Recently the betatestadmin@atari.com e-mail address has been flooded with requests from people who are sending in cover letters to supplement their chances of getting selected for the Horizons beta test.
This is mostly my fault for posting here that doing so would help your chances of being selected for beta, however, at this point the rate of e-mails I'm receiving is so large that it is difficult to sort through them and find the e-mails from betatesters who are having difficulty with their accounts.
So, we've created a new e-mail address betahorizons@atari.com, specifically for Horizons requests. Before e-mailing, make sure that you have:
1. Created an account on betatests.net
2. Filled out your profile information completely
3. You meet the minimum requirements for Horizons
850 MHz Pentium III or AMD Athlon processor
GeForce 2
256 MB RAM
Windows 2000/XP/98/Me
High-speed connection
(No new dial-up testers right now. Sorry, daily updates make it pretty impractical.)
4. Requested Horizons from "Request/Edit Assignments"
5. You are e-mailing betahorizons@atari.com from the e-mail address associated with your account. This is how I will look it up.
Failure to do these things may result in your request being denied. It would be best to double-check your betatests.net profile before mailing. Also, when writing, be sure to make your case. Why would you make a good betatester? Offers of money/beer/first-born children are not necessary. I'd be more interested in a well-written and concise message. Concise indeed, there are a lot of applications.
If you've already e-mailed betatestadmin@atari.com, there is no need to resubmit. However, for those who are in the pending club and wish to state their case, betahorizons@atari.com is the way to go.
Veuillez suivre à la lettre ce qu'ils disent et ça marchera... la preuve... en quelques heures j'ai eu mon email... certains l'on eu dans même pas 3 heures...
