G-Star limited edition LIVE 8 Charitees raise funds for MAKING POVERTY HISTORY
G-Star is proud to announce their participation in this summer’s LIVE 8 concert, by producing a limited edition T-Shirt, the LIVE 8 Charitee, to raise funds and help MAKE POVERTY HISTORY.
On Saturday, July 2nd 2005 LIVE 8 will host a huge concert in London’s Hyde Park, echoing the most successful live music gig of all time – the original LIVE 8 in 1985, which saw the greatest pop musicians in the world come together to publicize the plight of Africa and raise funds to help in whatever way they could.
Now LIVE 8 is back, to recreate a concert which has remained emblazoned in the hearts and minds of all ‘80’s children and changed international fund raising forever. The LIVE 8 concert will be called LIVE 8, in reference to the countries who attend the G8 summit, and all profits from LIVE 8 will go to Africa and the MAKE POVERTY HISTORY campaign.
And how are G-Star and its dealers involved? Well, the idea is simple. G-Star has designed a limited edition LIVE 8 Charitee in black and white for men and women. G-Star dealers worldwide will be selling the LIVE 8 Charitee throughout their stores and concessions in the run up to the event, with profits from the sale of the LIVE 8 Charitees all going directly to LIVE 8 and MAKE POVERTY HISTORY.
Rumors have been circulating for months about the possibility of the concert taking place, and speculation on the line up at the event includes names like Coldplay, Robbie Williams, U2, the Rolling Stones, Sting, Paul McCartney and Kaiser Chiefs all performing in Hyde Park. To top it all there is even talk of a full Pink Floyd reunion as part of the event.
As with the original LIVE 8, a simultaneous concert is planned to take place on the other side of the world - in Washington DC, USA, where Eminem, surely the most famous popular musician in the USA, is one of a host of names that is scheduled to appear.
