Ca geule sur les forums US, à cause le prochain patch qui réduira le DPS du chasseur drastiquement!
Bref ca va devenir Wowtrix, ou comment éviter les fléches/ballesHistory of the Hunter DPS
There are many people who see fit to flame and derail any hunter arguments or concerns regarding the patch currently on the test server. I don’t care whether a hunter rolled on your sword or caused a wipe in your raid, idiots populate all classes.
Put all of that aside and simply listen to the facts, no generalizations or biased opinions here, please.
WoW Beta:
In beta, hunters were happy. Our weapons were on par damage wise with melee weapons. That was until the developers noticed a bug. Hunter’s ammo pouches and quivers were granting an additional haste bonus.
Example: A hunter with a SINGLE 13% haste quiver or ammo pouch would be granted 26% haste, double the haste intended. This was NOT the similarly described exploit (explained later)
To counter this, the developers lowered the damage on ALL RANGED WEAPONS. That means every bow, gun and crossbow was nerfed.
This was understandable, considering we were granted double haste.
WoW Live:
The game goes live. Months pass before any real changes are made to hunters.
That was until they decided to fix Aspect of the Hawk, a hunter buff. This so-called fix
Removed all ranged benefits of Battle Shout and Blessing of Might buffs.
Hunters were mildly upset, but glad to finally have Aspect of the Hawk fixed.
The Previous Patch
The developers fix the quiver bug that all ranged weapons were balanced for in beta.
Instead of raising the DPS of our ranged weapons back to their beta stats, they were left alone, ultimately nerfing our DPS by up to 13% - 14%.
Quiver and Ammo Pouch exploit fixed. This was a non-issue and needed to be fixed.
Explanation: By equipping an additional quiver or ammo pouch, you would be granted the haste from BOTH, which granted up to a 39% haste bonus.
Many players confused the two quiver/ammo pouch fixes and thought they were both exploits. There was one exploit, and the hunter community was glad to see it fixed.
Current Patch
Stealth nerf or bug?: Pet DPS was reduced 10% - 13%.
Ranged attacks use the target’s parry, dodge and defense skill, instead of target’s level to determine chance to hit:
This will further reduce our DPS in both PvE and PvP anywhere from 10% to as high as 65%.
Why we’re angry.
Our class was balanced around a bug that the developers were too lazy to fix. Once they fixed it our ranged weapons damage did not change.
- Weapon damage lowered to compensate for a known bug.
- Bug fixed
- Weapon damage and speed remains unchanged
Considering we’re now faced with misses, dodges, parries on top of deflects. Shouldn’t ranged weapon DPS be on par with melee weapons?
I challenge anyone to find a gun or bow that does more DPS than an equal level and rarity melee weapon. Here’s an example.
Typhoon: Type: 2-hand Rarity: (Epic) Level Requirement: 60 DPS: 64.7
Striker’s Mark: Type: Ranged Rarity: (Epic) Level Requirement: 60 DPS: 36.8 +Thorium Arrows = 54.3DPS
EDIT: Including the best ammunition, the Striker's Mark is capable of 54.3DPS. Still 10.4 DPS short of an easily obtainable melee weapon.
On average, our DPS will have been nerfed at LEAST 25%. Can you honestly tell me that any class would simply grin and bare it if their DPS was reduced that much?
Hell no! There would be an uproar much like there is in the hunter community.
