Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) announced today that it will launch a special ’Satin Silver’ PlayStation®2 console. The new ‘Silver Prestige Line – 2 controller pack’, set to launch mid-September 2003, will come complete with two silver versions of the classic Analog Controller (DUALSHOCK®2) and a new built-in IR receiver.
Following the success of the limited edition colour PlayStation®2 consoles released in Summer 2002, the decision to produce a silver console is design-led and has been made in response to strong consumer demand to have the world’s most popular console, PlayStation®2, available in different colours. The Satin Silver console will compliment other state-of-the-art home entertainment equipment providing a sleek and sophisticated design. The console offers an alternative to the established black console and features a stylish, matt silver finish.
