Bonjour,
If you ever go to Nigeria, allow me to offer you some advice about the Nigerian culture.
Nigerians are generally sociable, it’s not difficult to discuss with them. But Nigeria is an unstable country then most of Nigerian likes to complain about different thing. It’s regarded as respectful to listen them closely.
Nigerians think that their government has abandoned them. Then you’ll behave well if you ask about their family but you shouldn’t ask about a diseased member of their family.
In the north of Nigeria, it’s considered offensive to have eye contact when you speak to someone, especially with elderly people. In order to do so, they stand at a right angle from their interlocutor.
You’ll offend if you speak to a woman in the north. You have to speak to her husband.
You’ll look tactful if you learn some simple sentence in their language like polite forms.
It’s good manners to eat traditional food at local restaurant.
