ECTS AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Rockstar North Tops ECTS 2002 Awards With Seven 'Stars'
The winners of the most prestigious awards in the European interactive entertainment industry were announced in London today at ECTS - Europe's premier trade show for the interactive entertainment industry. The awards were presented in a ceremony hosted by Whizzbang TV’s Gareth Jones and attended by over 1000 leading industry figures in the trade hall of ECTS itself.
The full line-up of winners is:
· MCV Best of British Award - Criterion
· PC Format Best New Games Kit Award – Nvidia GeForce 4
· The Develop Magazine Award for British Game Design Innovation – Rockstar North for GTA3
· The Edge Award – SCEI for Ico
· PC Gamer Best PC Game Developer – Creative Assembly for Medieval
The following awards were voted for by more than 750 visitors to the ECTS website:
· Best Console of the Year – PlayStation 2
· Best PC Hardware – Gainward Geforce 4 ‘Powerpack’ Ultra/750XP Golden Sample
· Best Console Game of the Year – Grand Theft Auto 3
· Best PC Game of the Year – Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
· Publisher of the Year – Electronic Arts
The Game of the Show Awards were voted for by a panel of elite European journalists and presented at ECTS to the following lucky winners:
· Overall Best Game of the Show - Splinter Cell
· Best PC Game of the Show - Breed
· Best Console Game of the Show - Pro Evolution Soccer 2
· Best Handheld Game of the Show - Super Monkey Ball Junior
· Best Multiplayer Game of the Show - Korean Multiplayer Ping Pong
The winners of the European Game of the Year Awards, as voted for by the readers of key European gaming publications, are:
· PC Game of the Year France, voted for by viewers of Game One – GTA3
· Console Game of the Year France, voted for by viewers of Game One – MGS2
· PC Game of the Year Germany, voted for by users of Gamigo.de - GTA 3
· Console Game of the Year Germany, voted for by users of Gamigo.de – Halo
· Console Game of the Year Benelux, voted for by readers of Power Unlimited – GTA 3
· PC Game of the Year Benelux, voted for by readers of Power Unlimited - Warcraft III, Reign Of Chaos
· PC Game of the Year Italy, voted for by users of Games Radar.it – Max Payne
· Console Game of the Year Italy, voted for by users of Games Radar.it – Halo
· PC Game of the Year Spain, voted for by readers of Game Live – Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
· PC Game of the Year Eastern Europe, voted for by readers of Domashny PK - IL-2 Sturmovik
