upgrade firmware

Je voudrais upgrader un cd-rom

Graveur CD-R/RW :
Fabricant : HL-DT-ST
Modèle : CD-RW GCE-8240B

et mettre le firmware 1.08, car xp ne le reconnais pas comme graveur RW, j'ai télécharger ce qui me semble être un firm, mais il ne l'upgrade pas...

Alors :
1°) dois-je upgrader avec un prog annexe ?
2°) où y aurait-il d'autres firmwares

Pour upgrader les miens, pour l lecteur DVD, j'ai trouvé le prog pour upgrader sur le site (c'était facile, cette marque ne fait qu'un seul type de lecteur DVD), pour mon graveur (Philipps) j'ai fait une recherche google ("firmware + " n° de modèle de mon graveur) en limitant au site du constructeur, et même chose, j'ai trouvé un *.exe

Tu peux toujours tenter ...

je ne trouve pas ... mais merci quand même

J'ai vu un prog où il devrait être flashé dans le bios.
Est-ce possible ?

If you want to upgrade the firmware of the GCE-8240B, then please do the following the following.

Improper processing of this upgrade will damage the drive.
LG Electronics is not responsible or liable for improper installation of this upgrade.
This firmware upgrade is for firmware versions below 1.08 of the LG Branded GCE-8240B DVD-ROM Drives.
The ROM version is stamped on the top of the drive below the serial number.
This upgrade is not designed for drives manufactured HP, IBM, Compaq, Dell or any other OEM
{Original Equipment Manufacturer} customers, please contact the OEM for all firmware updates
and support for your OEM drive.


Please follow the hardware setup instructions below.
1.Have the CD-RW drive connected to the secondary IDE channel as a master drive with no devices as slave.
2.Do not touch or interfere with the drive while the FIRMWARE is being upgraded.
3.If an error occurs during the upgrade process, or the upgrade process is cancelled during this process,
damage to the drive can occur. This is your responsibility. LG Cannot be held liable for mistakes or
errors that occur during this upgrade process.

To upgrade drives in Windows 98/95 PCs

1. Remove any inserted discs in the CD-RW Drive and insure the CD-RW is master on the secondary port.
2. Download the Firmware and Execution file to the same folder(ex: c:\>temp)
3. Check the Firmware and Execution files(je2lg514 & update.exe)
4. Boot the computer as DOS(not windows dos mode)
5. Execute the update.exe (eg: c:\temp\update.exe firmware file name(je2lg514.lge)
if you downloaded this file in this directory)

eg: c:\temp\>update je2lg514(do not include the extension name) then press enter.


Prior to upgrading to Windows 2000/ME/XP

Note: If you have Windows 2000, ME, or XP already installed, you will need to create a
bootable disk from another operating system like DOS, Win95 or Win98 in order to process this firmware update.
Follow the steps below.

1. Place: A blank floppy diskette in your 3.5" disk drive A:
2. Double-Click: My Computer Icon on your desktop
3. Right-Click: The drive letter that is the 3.5" drive.
4. Choose : Format.
5. Choose: Copy System Files Only, Click OK.
6. Download the Firmware and Execution file to the same folder(ex: a
7. Copy: The Firmware and Execution file to the new floppy diskette
8. Let: The PC Make the disk bootable.
9. Re-Boot your PC with the bootable disk in Drive A: (Note: you may need to change your boot sequence
in the CMOS Setup in order to boot to drive A. Please see your motherboard manual for instructions or
contact your PC manufacture for instructions on changing the boot sequence.)
10. At the A:\>update je2lg514 (do not include extension name) then press enter.

IMPORTANT- DO NOT INTERFERE WITH THE DRIVE DURING THIS PROCESS.

When the UPGRADE is complete the screen should indicate FIRMWARE UPDATE SUCCESSFUL.
Remove the bootable disk and Re-boot your PC.

NOTICE

1.You have to have the CD-RW drive connected to secondary master alone.
2.Don't touch the drive while the firmware upgrade is in process
3.If a problem occurs during the upgrade process it is that your responsibility.

j'ai eu un probleme similaire avec les cdr 90min, c'etait easycd creator qui merdait, depuis que j'ai change pour nero, plus de problemes, tu utilise quoi comme prog de gravure?

J'ai réinstallé, mais je ne trouve plus l'ancien firmware 1.02 pour remettre l'original et maintenant, j'ai ce problème là :
